This periodical was launched on 7 October 1915 under the editorship of Hazrat Mir Qasim Ali (ra), editor Al-Haqq and Ahmadi. It was the first weekly newspaper launched during the Khilafat of Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra).

The Weekly Faruq, at first served to publish articles refuting the allegations levelled by the opponents of Ahmadiyyat until the demise of Hazrat Mir Qasim Ali (ra). Later this newspaper served to report the activities of Tahrik-e-Jadid.
