In 1902, the epidemic of Plague had spread all over India, which was one of the great signs manifested for the truthfulness of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as).

Completely in accordance with the promise of Allah the Almighty, the followers of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) were saved miraculously. 

Due to the ongoing situation, Hazrat Ahmad (as) postponed the Jalsa Salana Qadian of 1902. He made this announcement in an ishtihar on 18 December 1902, which can be read in Majmua-e-Ishtiharat, Vol. 3, p. 284.
