Divine Sign of the “Red drops” refers to an event from 10 July 1885, on the 27th day of fasting, in the sacred month of Ramadan.

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) was lying down on his side in a bed. A devoted companion, Hazrat Mian Abdullah Sanauri (ra), who was massaging his feet, felt that the Promised Messiah’s (as) body trembled a little (as he was seeing a vision). Right at that moment, the companion noticed a few fresh red drops that had somehow appeared on the ankle of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) as well as on his clothes.

Later on, Huzoor (as) went on to explain what he had seen in a vision. He was in the court of God Almighty and that whilst signing a document, Allah flicked His pen, which caused red ink drops to fall in the Promised Messiah’s (as) direction. Hazrat Mian Abdullah Sanauri (ra) mentioned that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) physically demonstrated the actions of flicking the pen and of the signing with his own hand. After that, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) said,

“This is the red ink which emanated from that pen. Look, a drop has fallen upon you as well”.

Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad (ra) said,

“I have seen this shirt. It has a light red colour that is slightly pink and I have come to know from Hazrat Mian Abdullah Sanauri Sahib (ra) that its colour has been like this from the beginning.”
