Rashid Ahmad Gangohi, son of Hidayat Ahmad, was born in 1826 in Gangoh, Saharanpur District.

Rashid had the honour of performing Hajj three times. For more than 50 years, he remained occupied in giving Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqah lectures and remained engaged in opposing Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as).

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) from among his opponents invited Rashid Ahmad Gangohi for a Mubahala (prayer duel). Rashid Ahmad Gangohi, in return, published a supplement of curse upon the fabricator. Thus, under the divine plan of Allah, Rashid Ahmad Gangohi passed away in 1905, during the lifetime of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as).
