Hazrat Maulvi Sher Ali (ra) was born on 24 November 1875. He was the son of Maulvi Nizam ud Din.
When he heard of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's (as) claim, he travelled to Qadian and pledged allegiance at his hands. He remained headmaster of the Talim-ul-Islam High School in Qadian. He spent his whole life in the service of Islam Ahmadiyyat. He was a profound scholar and translated the Holy Quran into English.
He passed away on 13 November 1947 in Lahore. He was buried in Bahishti Maqbarah Rabwah.
