In the 1530s, in the last year of emperor Babar’s reign, Hadi Baig left Samarkand for Punjab and lived in the district of Gurdaspur.
He was well-known for being knowledgeable, acquainted with religious knowledge, brave, just and his thirst for knowledge. Further, Abdul Hadi Baig was appointed a Qadi (Islamic judge) of 84 villages, and he populated Qadian.
