Hazrat Qazi Abdul Hameed was born on 11 February 1899. He was considered one of the brightest students in the school, so he earned a scholarship from the fourth grade to B.A. Honours and then to the degree of Law. 

In 1926, a fortnightly magazine Sunrise was launched in English from Qadian, and Qazi Abdul Hameed was appointed its editor in 1932 when the magazine was shifted from Qadian to Lahore. He performed this duty for many years. 

He served for the Kashmir Committee and pursued the cases of Kashmiri Muslims free of cost. He also had the privilege of translating several books of the Jamaat into English. 

Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra) praised his work on the occasion of the Jalsa Salana 1939.

He was also the editor of ‘PLD’ from 1949 to 1975 which is a very important magazine published for the legislators.
