In 1938, when Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra) had launched the scheme for life devotion, under Tahrik-e-Jadid, Sheikh Nasir Ahmad also presented himself, and in January 1939, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra) interviewed him. He was then sent to Darul Mujahideen for further training, which was later renamed as Darul Waqifeen. There, he also had the opportunity to serve in Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya and worked as Mohtamim Waqar-e-Amal and Mohtamim Khidmat-e-Khalq.

When Liwa-e-Ahmadiyyat (the flag of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat) was first hoisted at the Jalsa Salana of 1939, he also rendered the duty to protect it.

When he was Mohtamim Waqar-e-Amal, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra) also participated many times. Once when he saw Huzoor (ra) carrying a basket, he wanted to help him, but Huzoor (ra) said, ‘You are the secretary. Go and see if the work is going according to the program or not.’

During the early days of Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, he had the responsibility to collect and compile Huzoor’s (ra) instructions about Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya and publish them in a book form.

In December 1944, during a Majlis-e-Irfan in Mubarak Mosque, Qadian, Huzoor (ra) instructed him that as the war had nearly ceased, he should arrange his passport and start preparing to go to England. When he was instructed to go to Europe in 1945, he took a two-week leave and came to Sindh to visit his parents, where he received a telegram to reach Bombay (now Mumbai) immediately from where the ship would depart in two days, and the seat had been booked. So he reached Bombay. His luggage and passport etc. were in Qadian which were sent to Bombay through someone. The ship left Bombay on 4 August 1945, and on 24 August he reached London, where after working for about 15 months he arrived in Switzerland and set up a mission. He also published a magazine there, titled Islam, and played a key role in the publication of the German translation of the Holy Quran and the construction of the first mosque in Switzerland.
