Hazrat Mirza Akbar Baig (ra) was a resident of Kalanaur, Gurdaspur. His father's name was Hazrat Mirza Nayaz Baig (ra) and his brothers were Dr Mirza Yaqub Baig and Hazrat Mirza Ayyub Baig (ra).

All were among the 313 companions of the Promised Messiah (as).

He worked as a sub-inspector in the police department, posted in Kamar Mushani, Mianwali. His only offspring, Mirza Mubarak Ahmad, was deeply connected to Khilafat.

He passed away on 12 July 1927 in Kalanaur, where he was laid to rest.
