Ravil Bukharaev was a well-known Russian poet, journalist, writer, translator and a devout member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.

Ravil Bukharaev was introduced to Ahmadiyyat in the early 1990s, and as a result of his meetings with Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (rh), Khalifatul Masih IV, he accepted Ahmadiyyat. 

He had a great passion to preach the message of Islam Ahmadiyyat in Russia. He worked in the BBC Russian Service, and after his retirement, he devoted his life to the Jamaat. 

He had the opportunity to serve at the Russian Desk in London. He had translated many books of the Jamaat into the Russian language. Moreover, he also worked for the Russian translation of the Holy Quran. 

He received many awards for his services to the nation. The BBC Russian Service aired programs about him and paid tribute to his services. 

Ravil Bukharaev passed away on 24 January 2012. Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aa), Khalifatul Masih V, delivered a Friday Sermon about him on 27 January 2012 and led his funeral prayer.
