Hazrat Syed Mir Hamid Shah (ra) was born in 1859. His father was Hazrat Hakim Mir Hissamuddin (ra). Shams-ul-Ulema, Syed Mir Hassan was his brother who was the teacher of Allama Iqbal. 

Hazrat Syed Mir Hamid Shah (ra) pledged allegiance to Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) on 29 December 1890. His wife Hazrat Feroza Begum (ra) pledged allegiance on 7 February 1892. 

Hazrat Syed Mir Hamid Shah (ra) excelled in poetry, prose and speeches. It was he who conveyed the message of Ahmadiyyat to Allama Iqbal while he was a student. 

Hazrat Ahmad (as) mentioned him in Izala-e-Auham, Asmani Faislah, Aina-e-Kamalat-e-Islam, Tohfa-e-Qaisariyyah, Siraj-e-Munir, Kitab-ul-Bariyyah, Haqiqatul-Wahi, and Malfuzat Volume 5. 

Hazrat Syed Mir Hamid Shah (ra) passed away on 15 November 1918, at the age of 59. He had seven sons and three daughters.
