Hazrat Munshi Taj Din (ra) an accountant for the Lahore railway office was an early companion. His residence was in Kothi Daran, Lahore.

Hazrat Munshi Taj Din (ra) took the pledge of allegiance before 1892 and was amongst the 313 companions of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). He is numbered 364 in the Bai'at Register and met Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) before his claim. He was highly dignified and loyal, making his way to Qadian whenever the opportunity aroused. Being present at the Jalsa Salana of 1892, he has been mentioned in Aina-e-Kamalat-e-Islam under the heading “participants of Jalsa Salana”. His service to the community was like no other, having also been a member of the party sent to Dera Baba Nanak investigating the Chola [cloak] Baba Nanak.

His lounge was near the stairs of sunehri masjid, next to the residence of Hazrat Hakim Maulvi Nuruddin (ra), Khalifatul Masih I.

It was by his advice that Maulvi Muhammad Din (ra), who later became the president of Sadr Anjuman, visited Qadian and subsequently took the pledge at the hand of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as).

Hazrat Munshi Taj Din (ra) passed away at the age of 84 in June 1921.
