Hazrat Qazi Muhammad Zuhooruddin Akmal (ra) was a companion of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as).

He was born on 25 March 1881, in Goleki, district Gujarat. He got his early education at home and then at Mission High School, Gujarat.

In 1897, he pledged allegiance to Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). 

In 1902, he started visiting Qadian frequently and had the opportunity to assist Hazrat Mufti Muhammad Sadiq (ra) in publishing Al-Badr newspaper. In 1906, he moved to Qadian permanently.

After reading three books of Hazrat Qazi Muhammad Zuhooruddin Akmal (ra), Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) praised his excellent and well-reasoned writing.

Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra), Khalifatul Masih II, also appreciated his services for Al Fazl newspaper. 

During his residence in Qadian for 40 years, Hazrat Qazi Muhammad Zuhooruddin Akmal (ra) used to visit the grave of Hazrat Ahmad (as) daily, and never cared about bad weather.

He not only served as the editor and manager of Al Fazl, but also had the opportunity to serve as the editor of Tash-heez-ul-Azhan, Review of Religions (Urdu), and Misbah. He also served as the Nazim Taba'at and Ishaat. 

In 1938, he retired from the employment of Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya.
He wrote more than 40 books, and many articles as well. In 1903 alone, 28 newspapers published 136 articles of Hazrat Qazi Muhammad Zuhooruddin Akmal (ra). He was a renowned journalist and poet of his time.

Hazrat Qazi Muhammad Zuhooruddin Akmal (ra) passed away on 27 September 1966. Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad (rh), Khalifatul Masih III, led the funeral prayer, shouldered the funeral and led the silent prayer after the burial.
