Maulvi Ghulam Hassan Khan of Peshawar

Hazrat Maulvi Ghulam Hassan Khan (ra)was born in 1852, in Mianwali district. 

He got his early education in Rawalpindi and then passed matriculation privately. 

He started his career as the headmaster of Abbottabad Middle School. He was then posted to Peshawar where he served as the Sub-Registrar for 40 years. 

For a long time, he served as the Municipal Commissioner and Vice President of the Peshawar Municipal Committee. 

He was also appointed as the Honorary Magistrate by the government. 

In 1911, he participated in the Delhi Darbar from NWFP (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). Later he was also given the title of Khan Bahadur. 

He pledged allegiance to Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), after reading his book Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya, and was amongst the 313 companions. 

Hazrat Ahmad (as) has mentioned him in the book Izala-e-Auham.

One of his daughters, Hazrat Sarwar Sultana was the wife of Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad M.A. (ra). 

In 1906, Hazrat Ahmad (as) had appointed Hazrat Maulvi Ghulam Hassan Khan (ra) as a member of the Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya.

Hazrat Maulvi Ghulam Hassan Khan (ra) passed away on 2 February 1943, and Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra), Khalifatul Masih II, led his funeral prayer.
