In order to solve the civil disputes between members of the community, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II (ra) introduced Darul Qaza (department of justice) in 1919.

The judges of this department offer their judgements based on the ordinances of the Holy Quran, sayings and practice of the Holy Prophet (sa) and Islamic jurisprudence.

This department decides disputes which may arise amongst Aḥmadīs. Cases are settled through reconciliation, arbitration or adjudication. In charge Ṣīgha is called Nāẓim Dārul Qaḍā’ and is appointed by Ḥaḍrat Khalīfatul Masīḥ. There is a Board of Dārul Qaḍā’ whose members and the President are appointed by Ḥaḍrat Khalīfatul Masīḥ. There is a built-in system of Qāḍīs and appellate benches. In judicial matters Nāẓim Dārul Qaḍā’ works under the supervision of the President of Qaḍā’ Board.
