Lahore is the capital of the Pakistani province of Punjab and is the country's 2nd largest city after Karachi, as well as the 26th largest city in the world. Rabwah is located west of Lahore, at a distance of 137 km.

This city has been blessed with the presence of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) on several occasions for various travels, lectures and debates.

A three-day conference began on 26 December 1896 in Lahore. Upon the unanimous demand of the audience to hear the full essay of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), titled Islami Usul ki Philosophy (The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam), it was extended to 29 December. The purpose of the conference was to give the representatives of all faiths and groups – Judaism, Christianity, Arya Samaj, Parsis, Brahmins, Jainism, Buddhism, Sanatan Dharam, Hinduism and atheism – the chance to present the positive aspects of their religions from their scriptures and teachings.

On 26 May 1908 the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) passed away in Lahore. At Fajr time, he performed tayammum [alternative for ablution when one is ill or when water is not availble] and offered Salat whilst lying down. In a state of semi-consciousness, he would repeat the words, “Allah! Merey piyarey Allah!” that is, “O Allah! My beloved Allah!” 

إِنَّا للہ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
“Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.”

In recent history, on 28 May 2010, the brutal and inhumane attacks on two Ahmadi mosques in Lahore took place. More than 80 Ahmadi Muslims lost their lives while worshipping Allah the Almighty in Jumuah prayers; dozens left injured and thousands traumatised.
