London needs no introduction as the capital city of the United Kingdom but it holds great importance in the history of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. 

The first mission of the Ahmadiyya community was established in London in 1913. The first property used as the mission house was 4, Star Street, W1. 

Two houses, 61 and 63 Melrose Road, SW18 were purchased around 1920 with a plan to build a mosque in the adjacent orchard. This orchard later had the honour of having the Fazl Mosque to be built on it.

When Hazrat Mirza Bashiurddin Mahmud Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih II (ra), visited London to address the Conference of the Living Religions of the Empire in 1924, he stayed at 6 Chesham Place in Belgravia, London - a property hired to host his stay and work as his office.

The headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat moved to London with the migration of Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih IV (ra) in 1984. It remained so until the migration of Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (aa) to Islamabad, Surrey, in spring 2019.
